What’s a Credit Union

Credit unions are not-for-profit financial cooperatives that provide an effective and viable alternative to for-profit financial institutions for more then 186 million members in 97 countries worldwide. They exist to serve their members, providing a safe place to save money and access affordable loan products. InvesTex is proud to have been offering financial products and services to all its members since 1952.

When you join a credit union, you become an owner, and the credit union depends on you to sustain it. Unlike a bank, credit unions are not open to the general public-only to people who are defined in the credit union’s charter as being in the field of membership. That membership determines the direction of the credit union. This special relationship between credit unions and their field of members is a key reason why credit union members are the most satisfied users of financial services.
